From when I counted my age on my hands

As a child I did not have a compulsive disorder as a good deal of my idols did. I wonder if I had though. I imagine it as needing to pick a flower from every cluster of flowers I passed, or grabbing at least one stone and palming it till my hand’s sweat had cleaned it, or needing, just absolutely needing to graze my hand on every block of sidewalk or brick that I walked on. I imagine that having habits such as those and fulfilling them could only create an unsurpassable feeling of self-accomplished calmness.

No, I never thought to develop such a neurotic habit. I was completely oblivious of a need for normalcy, convention. When I got home after school, a day filled of a fair ration of ridicule, I put on unmatching, unnecessary clothes that at the time gave me a sense of comfort, unsurpassable by any conventional pair of clothes. I then, depending on weather or mood, spent my afternoons either in the woods behind my house continuing imaginary worlds or in the village of Legos I maintained, seasons and all.

The characters I created were interchangeable; David and Richard were usually brothers. Thadius was the unique one. Richard and Thadius were often married to Anastasia where all three were often involved in a love triangle. Cassy and David were sometimes the sweet generous married couple or Cassy was married to Richard and tragically entangled in the love triangle that Anastasia could not help but ignite. Stefan and Angela were always evil.

For some reason, this scares me a bit, when I began thinking of a great acronym for the three d’s in my name I could only think of rather connotatively negative words, destructive, demonic, desperate, deduce, dashing (not a bad word but no one ever uses it which would only point out that it’s not renowned and maybe for good reason). Thusly, I express that the three d’s in the latter part of my monogram should not be rationalized by any degree.
